Delta

The DELTA Philosophy

The Delta Program is an honors program founded in 1986 on the philosophy that children with exceptional academic aptitude and creative talent have special characteristics that are best met by a program that is especially designed for them. At Delta we understand that children develop both intellectually and emotionally at varying rates and that all children have both academic and emotional strengths and weaknesses. For that reason we have developed a differentiated curriculum that addresses a child’s individual needs and developmental differences. We provide a variety of learning styles, thereby affording children the opportunity to become active participants in the learning process in a non-competitive atmosphere.

The curriculum we have developed provides an opportunity for children to think critically and to solve problems creatively. Delta students are presented with an interdisciplinary and multicultural curriculum that involves them in dynamic and varied learning experiences, fostering creativity, decision-making and analytical thinking.
