MS 54 Booker T Washington Middle School

Dear Parents,

Thank you for entrusting your children to us this year. Your children have worked hard. The enclosed report card and test results will give you a clearer picture of the progress he/she has made this year. I would like to congratulate the parents of the students who have made significant progress in either English Language Arts or Mathematics and those who have earned a place on the Honor Roll. This could not have happened without parental support. I am also proud of those students who participated in extra-curricular activities. We have a great deal of talent in our school.

The summer assignments were distributed today. If your child did not get one, please contact us at school. The school will be open until August 8th. In addition, please encourage your child to read daily. Your child should read a minimum of thirty minutes a day. The books he reads this summer will start him on his way to the goal of forty.

Students who need extra help in reading and math have been sent an invitation to attend Summer School. If you are unsure as to whether or not your child has to attend, please contact the team leader or Ms. Ellis (ext. 345.)

Music and art preference sheets were also distributed today. Please complete the form and get it back to us by August 27th. We will do our best to accommodate your requests.

If you are not already signed up for the school list serve, I urge you to sign up so you receive all of information about the coming year which will be disseminated during the course of the summer. If you have questions, please contact Anne Pejovich. Anne, Ms. Ellis and I will be at Booker T. most of the summer. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions.
