Actually, the PDF feature was removed because Google chose to only list the PDF pages in its index and the PDF pages provided no links to the regular site.

You will now see the phrase "Download PDF" at the bottom of most pages.
It is what it says. See the story or page as a PDF. It doesn't work for all pages. It doesn't seem to work on pages that have been constructed from a piece of a MS Word-generated html.

The feature is fairly slow. You probably would do better with cut and paste.
