Tabs refer to the fact that in Firefox or IE7 you can open new web pages in the same window rather than having windows scattered all over your desktop. Its neater. On this site, clicking a link results in the new page replacing the old. You lose where you are, plus it takes time to get back to where you were. Context Menu. That's the little popup window that you get when you right click anywhere. If you right-click on a link, then you get a mini menu whose terms are relevant to the link. One choice will be 'Open in New Window' or 'Open in New Tab' (if the browser uses tabs). Right Click!! What's that? I only have one clicker! Oh, you Mac people! You don't know how to use your own hardware. You can simulate the right click by holding down your Command key and then clicking your solitary button. When you hold down your Command key the pointer icon should change to a little list box icon. That's how you know you generate a context menu when you click. If you can't manage this two handed gymnastics, go buy yourself a 2 or 3 button USB optical mouse. It will work in place of your regular mouse and you'll get an easy to use context menu (like PC people have always been used to). |
